Top Country Song Picks for (March)

TRANSCRIPT

Hello fellow humanoids, and furry friends.

We are the ladies of Stone Cold Country with our top country song picks for March/April 2023

There is never a shortage of toe tappin’, and ear pleasing songs.

No there is not, and it seems like every week we hear solid songs from artists we never heard of before. Yes, for sure.

Well, before we dig in, we’re sending our heartfelt condolences to everyone impacted by the latest tornados and overall catastrophic weather across the country..

25 fatalities have been reported so far across several states including Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and beyond.

Please consider donating at feedingamerica.org, and at redcross.org Godspeed everyone..

Absolutely! On a lighter note, The Academy Of Country Music Awards will be hosted by Dolly and Garth Brooks this year. It’s unbelievable that they have never worked together before.

Yes, it is a first. Another interesting note is the show will be held at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas. Usually, the event is held in Las Vegas and previously in Los Angeles. And during the pandemic,The ACM’s were streamed from Nashville. The last time the event was held in Texas was back in 2015.

Everyone can watch via Amazon Prime or watch for free the day after on Freevee. The 58th Academy of Country Music Awards will be streamed live on May 11.

And how about those CMT awards woot woot! Almost everyone I wanted to win won. Cody Johnson, Megan Moroney, Lainey Wilson & Hardy, and more..

Kane & Kaitlyn looked adorable, and such a heartfelt video.. Yes, and they won the most important award of the evening Video Of The Year. There were so many high moments in the broadcast that it is hard to single one out.. I agree! Wynona and Ashley Mcbryde’s duet was something especially when Wy called out to her momma..

The Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute was incredible, goodness! It shows how far country music’s reach really is as southern rock absolutely has roots deeply entrenched in the genre.

But back in the 70’s when most of the music was released it was played on rock radio. Lynyrd Skynyrd unbelievably never charted a song on the billboard country charts..Wow..

So Faith Hill’s husband lol, yeah I think his name is Tim McGraw, has a new album coming out, his 17th to be exact.

It will be coming out later this year as no firm release dates are shared yet. Let’s go ahead and hear the title track Standing Room Only

Next up is Bailey Zimmerman with Religiously..

And a big congrats to Bailey who earned two platinum certifications for Rock & A Hard Place, and Fall In Love. The latter is currently the number one song on the Country Airplay Charts week ending APRIL 1, 2023. Let’s hear Bailey’s latest

Album: Religiously

Release Date: May 12 2023

Bryan Martin, Frank Foster, Poets & Old Souls

From the album of the same name, this song laments the lonely, hard life of artists who draw songs from their painful pasts, a fitting title song for an album that contains many songs drawn from the artist’s tumultuous own life.

Billy Droze, It’s Ok To Be Ok. We need more happy, and upbeat songs like this one. Generally speaking, it iis about giving oneself permission to relax in times of hardship. Let’s give it a spin.

Let’s give Shelby Lee Lowe’s Broken Beautiful a spin.

This song is a tribute to single moms everywhere, co-written by two songwriters who were raised by single moms. How cool is that!

James Intveld, Let’s Talk It Out A simple song about talking things out, person-to-person in relationships because context is often lost when text and social media is used solely. Let’s give it a listen.

Jordan Harvey is next up with Along For The Ride.

A fun car ride song with a special someone set to the sound of the banjo and tasteful modern country instrumentation from a talented singer from the emerald isles.. I love the energy in this song! Let's hear it..

Let’s hear Griffen Palmer, with Unlearn. It is a heart touching song that recounts the singer’s not so great image of love as a result of being raised in a less than ideal home. Ultimately, being changed by experiencing genuine healthy love.. Wow… Let’s give it a spin.

Cooper Alan, Stand Down

The song explores the nuances of an important, yet strained relationship. But the important lesson comes when you realize that there is no room for pride in love especially, if it means that the relationship will be destroyed over inconsequential pettiness. Let’s give Stand Down a spin..

Brady Lee ft. Kelsey Lamb-Strangers In A Photograph Inspired by a high school reunion, this song tells the story of how old friends from the past can develop into completely different people with their own lives, almost like “strangers.”

We’re closing out with a sweet song from former Saddle Bronc Rider Chancey Williams. One Of These Days. Do you know he is only one of two cowboys that competed, and performed at Cheyenne’s Frontier Days. Do you know who the other cowboy is?

Yes, I do. It was Chris LeDoux. Yes it was!

It's a wrap, and don’t forget to check out a new installment of our fresh song picks after the 28th of each month.

And our Texas edition on the 23rd of each month.

As always stay strong, stay true, and stay hungry! Have a great rest of your week, and take care.
