Top Ten New Traditional Country Artists, Volume II

We love us some new traditional country music, and are finding that we are not alone. Through our #StoneColdCountry show, we've come across a handful of artists that are infusing their experiences, style, and love for country music in their songwriting, and vocal delivery.

Y'all not everyone can sound like George Jones or Tammy Wynette, but the ten artists we are showcasing below are doing a pretty good job at raising that torch high.

He has 10 years of playing gigs and writing music under his sleeve and his contributions to Texas music were recognized by the city of Austin, when it declared February 25th “Weldon Henson Day.” He got the passion to play music when he was serving in the Air Force. Weldon has been playing music ever since.

Her song “On Paper” was inspired by an experience where one of her cousins had a significant other who wasn’t immediately approved by the rest of the family. She also keeps some great songwriting company. Her song “Smoke” was written by some friends of hers, Nicolette Hayford, Hailey Whitters and Jake Mitchell. The song is close to her heart due to the way it shows the beauty in honesty.The song "Smoke" embraces vulnerability and sends a clear message in support of being true to yourself.

This brother team has been making music for years. Their song “Way Back Home” is about soldiers who never made it back home. The subject is near, and dear to their heart, since their grandfather died in WWII.

Sunny was able to record her debut album after recovering from several autoimmune diseases, that she thought would end her career. The first song she ever released was “Don’t Let Me Sink,” a song she wrote with her husband for the John 4:14 Foundation, a foundation that provides clean drinking water to African communities by building water wells.

His debut album was produced by Roger Brown, who’s worked with Tammy Wynette and George Strait. Before music, he was rodeoing in high school and was introduced to great country music via his parents and grandparents. After graduating college, he decided to start focusing on his music career.
